The run dialog box appears Type in followed by the NetBIOS name of your Mac. When you uninstall SMBUp (theres an option to do so in the menus) everything installed by it is removed but these services cant be re-enabled programmatically. If you don't see your Mac show up in Network, you can try a direct connection: Press the Windows Key and tap R. Once connected, you can now browse the files on your Mac. These problems were supposedly solved in 10.7.3, but my particular issues seem to still be there in several cases (Windows XP name browsing not working, Guest access not working, performance issues, dropped connections), and may be related to the Windows XP (versus Windows Vista/7) clients I'm dealing with. macOS 10.15 (Catalina) finally broke SMBUp for good as Catalina only supports 64-bit apps and that is a no-go for SMBUp.
